  • EMBO Global Investigator Network

    The EMBO Global Investigator Network supports group leaders producing impactful research in the Life Sciences and who, at the time of application, are within their first six years of setting up their laboratories in Chile, India, Singapore or Taiwan.

    Through the EMBO Director’s Special Fund, EMBO has opened the call to researchers based in African countries.

    Global Investigators receive four years of financial support for networking activities, including travel costs, and benefit from training opportunities, support for their lab members, participation in EMBO events, and mentoring. They become part of an international network of more than 700 current and former EMBO Young Investigators, Global Investigators and Installation Grantees. This grant provides them with opportunities to form collaborations with scientists in their region and in Europe.

  • EMBO Young Investigator Programme

    Submission deadline:

    1 April 2026

    The EMBO Young Investigator Programme supports life scientists who have been group leaders for less than four years at the time of application in setting up their laboratories.

    Young Investigators receive financial support for networking for four years and benefit from training opportunities, support for their lab members and mentoring. They become part of an international network of more than 700 current and former EMBO Young Investigators, Installation Grantees and Global Investigators.

  • IBRO Neuroscience Training Grant

    Submission deadline:

    15 November 2025

    Applications are open to PhD students and early-career postdoctoral fellows who are within 5 years of starting their first postdoctoral fellowship. These grants are intended for those planning to attend a neuroscience training course starting between 1 January and 30 June 2026. Applications from students wishing to attend an IBRO-Supported School will not be taken into consideration for this program.

    The applications will open on October 1, 2025.

  • Swiss National Science Foundation (SNSF) Project Funding

    Swiss National Science Foundation (SNSF) Project Funding

    Submission deadline:

    1 October 2025

    The project funding scheme enables qualified researchers to independently carry out projects on topics and research objectives of their own choosing.

    Researchers can apply for funding to cover research costs and staff salaries as well as expenses related to scientific cooperation, networking and communication; however, they cannot apply for their own salaries. Applicants have until 1 April 2025 to submit their proposal via the SNSF Portal. Please note that you will need to create a new account for the SNSF Portal even if you already have a mySNF account. It is recommended that you allow sufficient time to familiarise yourself with the portal and to enter the proposal.
