The Biological Cost of Chronic Stress: Allostatic Load and Newer Conceptualizations
The Stress Measurement Network will host a series of webinars on stress measurement, intervention, and physiology. This first webinar (9:00 AM to 12:00 PM PDT) will cover foundational concepts of allostasis and allostatic load, cutting-edge modeling approaches of composite markers of health and aging, and recent empirical work linking allostatic load to stress and aging.
Hear from pioneers in this area including Drs. Peter Sterling (who coined the term “allostasis”), Cathal McCrory, Eileen Crimmins, and Rober-Paul Juster.Whether you are an early career researcher looking for an accessible introduction to these concepts or an experienced scholar interested in the latest modeling and empirical developments, this event will provide valuable insights. -
